- Admissions
We admit students from vernacular background and bring them to the level of English Medium Public School within a short span of time which rarely any schools in India can do. Actually, it helps in eliminating inherent constraints in remote areas which is rarely found in other schools in India.
- School Uniform Rules
- Students must wear their uniforms with pride and ensure that they look neat and presentable at all times. I-Card is an integral part of school's uniform.
- A student must always come to school in uniform, also during the practical and special classes.
- No student is allowed to attend any Open House, school function in or outside the school in any dress other than school uniform.
- It is mandatory for girls to wear Blue Slacks under their skirts/tunics.
- Students not in complete/neat uniform can be debarred from boarding the bus/entering the school.
- Boys are required to wear shirts and pants as per the design specifications of the prescribed uniform.
- Non-Compliance of rules given above will not be tolerated at any cost and repeated offence will result in suspension for a week.
- Bullying and Harassment
Bullying / harassment is an illegitimate use of power, we ensure that our learners are free from the clutches of any short of harassment or bullying. Such illegitimate behaviour could include repeated, systematic, isolated, infrequent, episodic, or continuous behaviours. Bullying / harassment is a behaviour that may take various forms.
- School has a policy that endeavours to
- reduce all instances of bullying / harassment;
- give students the confidence to report bullying / harassment behaviour if it arises;
- empower students to provide assistance to the victims of bullying / harassment;
- encourage students to see bullying / harassment as something they need to view as part of their responsibility even if they are not directly involved;
- Late Arrival in School
- Students are expected to reach school 10 minutes before the start of the school.
- Ideal Bhagwatians are expected to report at least 5 minutes before the stipulated time.
- School gate will close 5 minutes after the school timing.
- Students arriving late will not be allowed to enter the school premises.
- Arriving late for school is not acceptable. Students found to have come late for more than two days in a term will not be allowed to attend classes on third such occurrence and disciplinary action shall be taken against them.
- Library Rules
The School Library is open for the students during the school hours on weekdays. At least one library period is assigned in the weekly schedule for each class. Students have to observe the following rules:
- They must carry their Almanac to the library.
- Students are not allowed to bring their personal books into the library.
- They must maintain silence in the library.
- Books issued should be returned to the library in a good condition. If a book is marked, disfigured, lost or damaged, the borrower will have to either replace the book with its new edition or pay double the recent price of the book.
- Students can borrow books on their own cards only. Reference books will not be issued to students.
- Books are issued for 7 days and periodicals for 2 days. A fine of Re 1:00 per book per day and Rs 2.00 per periodical per day is charged for returning books/periodicals after the due date. In case of books returned after 15 days of the issue date Rs 2.00 per book per day will be charged and periodicals returned after 4 days of the issue date Rs. 3.00 per periodical per day will be charged.
- Laboratory Rules
- In the laboratory, students must abide by instructions given by the teacher. To avoid any laboratory accident, student must follow the safety rules and all the instructions of Lab In Charge and Lab Manual.
- Students will be responsible for any breakage or loss of apparatus.
- Every breakage or loss should be reported immediately to the Principal and the student should deposit its cost.
- Absence and Leave Taking Policy
- Students are responsible for making up all work missed during the period of their absence.
- In exceptional medical cases, parents may take their wards home during school hours. For this, they must give a written application to the principal stating clearly the reason for taking their wards out of the school. Permission to go during school hours for marriage, puja, outing etc. will not be entertained. However, the student will be marked absent for the day.
- No student who was absent on the previous day will be admitted to the class without the permission of the Home Room Teacher.
- In case a child remains absent for three consecutive days without prior permission after a long vacation or in the beginning of the session, his/her name will be struck off the school rolls. For rest of the session, absence for six consecutive days, without prior permission, will lead to the name of the child being struck off the rolls. Re-admission will be purely at the discretion of the Principal and that too, with full admission fee.
- Those absent without granted leave would be fined at the rate of Rs.5/- per day. If, on any day, the attendance of a particular class becomes less than 85%, all students remaining absent on that day shall be charged a special fine as decided by the school. The students already on sanctioned leave would be exempted from this fine. Those absent because of sickness must present the medical certificate on or before they rejoin the school.
- A student returning to school after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease should produce a doctor's certificate of fitness to attend classes. Students suffering from the following diseases must observe the period of quarantine before returning to class:
- a) Chicken pox b) Measles c) Mumps d) Whooping Cough e) Conjunctivitis f) Corona.
- No re-examination or re-test will be held in any case for the students who remain absent in any of the examinations / tests. Similarly, no test or exam schedule shall be changed to suit individual needs.
- School strongly discourages and strictly prohibits the wrong practice of taking child home for half period, half day or to skip any class or to take him/her home after the completion of the school exam under any reiterate reasons.
- Withdrawal and Disciplinary Policy
We, at BIPS believe in discipline and firmness. Slackness, disobedience and disregard of rules will not be tolerated and any work or action likely to lower the image of the school is regarded as a breach of the school discipline.
The school reserves the right to expel students whose diligence or progress in studies is considered unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students. Immorality, insubordination or contempt of authority and breaking bounds are always sufficient reasons for being expelled or rusticated immediately.
- The Principal reserves the right to ask for the withdrawal of any student who has proved immune to correction and is highly undisciplined or is medically declared unfit to pursue his/her normal studies in the school.
- Application for Transfer Certificate shall be made in writing to the Principal by the parents of the child. The school authorities cannot issue transfer Certificate once issued again. If lost, only duplicate can be obtained from the school on the following conditions:
- Application to be made in writing, giving reasons along with an affidavit.
- Application must be signed by the student and countersigned by the parent or guardian.
- The duplicate certificate can only be issued after 7 days of the receipt of the application.
- At the time of taking the Transfer Certificate, all dues to the school must be paid in full for the period during which the pupil's name was in the School Register.
- In the case of students who want to take admission elsewhere after the completion of the session, parents must apply for Transfer Certificate (TC) between the 1st February to 10th March or else the school fees for the 1st quarter has to be paid in full.
- Fees paid for a quarter shall not be refunded.
- Transfer or withdrawal certificate will not be issued until all dues of the school are settled.
- A student shall be suspended or expelled from the school on the following grounds:
- Gross indiscipline.
- Non-payment of dues.
- Detention or repeated detention in the same class or gross poor academic performance beyond the remedial control or support of the school.
- If the authorities are convinced that such a withdrawal is necessary in the interest of the school.
- The name of the student will be stuck off the rolls after continuous absence without information for fifteen days or more.
- He/She may be readmitted as per the rules and the discretion of the Principal.
- Every student must have at least 75% (Pre-Primary Classes) / 80 % (Classes I to V) / 85% (Classes VI onwards) / 85% IX and XI attendance to get promotion to the next class. The school management decision regarding the same will be abided to all the applicable cases and will be considered final.
- Those who fail to fulfill this criterion will either be debarred from appearing at an examination and marked zero for the same in the mark sheet or shall be detained in the same class.
- The attendance percentage criterion is applicable to each of the two terms separately. Benefit of having more attendance for Term I will not be given to the Term II.
- The relaxation in the attendance may be granted subject to the full satisfaction of the Principal on any of the following two grounds:
In case the child is seriously sick and remains absent for two or more than two consecutive working days he/she will have to produce the medical certificate from a competent authority.
- Any mishappening in the family : In case there is any untoward incident in the family.
- Irregular attendance, non-submission of leave application, insubordination to teachers, any kind of cheating or serious misconduct or any habit or behaviour objectionable to the good name of the school are sufficient reasons for punishment, even dismissal from school.
- A child failing twice in the same class will not be permitted to continue his / her studies in the school especially if he / she becomes overage for that class. As a rule only those students will be retained on the roll of the school that can take the school leaving examination under 18 years of age.
- The Decision of the Principal shall be final and binding in this regard.
- Payment of Fee
In connection of the payment of the fee, parents are requested to note the following:
- Fee is to be deposited cash or A/c Payee cheque drawn on any local bank favouring "Bhagwati International Public School" as per the school policy of the payment of fee to the Bank decided by the School Management.
- No outstation cheques are acceptable. In case of a dishonoured cheque, due to any reason, a fine of Rs.100/- will be charged.
- Fee once paid shall not be refundable under any circumstance.
- It is the moral obligation of the parent to pay the school fee regularly and on time as per school fee schedule and policy and school sincerely appreciates your humble and timely cooperation and punctuality.
- In case the fee is not deposited within the mentioned deadline, a late fee of Rs. 100/- per week is added till the end of the month concerned after which the name of the child shall be struck off the School Register.
- Rules for Lunch & Food Stuff
As it is said, "A healthy mind lives in a healthy body', one of the important responsibilities of the school is to promote healthy eating habits among the young students. Keeping the health and fitness of all the students in mind, school discourages the use of packaged food & other edible stuffs in the school premises like, chips, wafers, noodles, chocolates, fried stuff, etc.
The menu advised to be followed by the students:
Roti -vegetable, Dal-Rice, Paratha- Vegetable, Curd-Rice, Pulao- Curd, Masala Khichari, Upma, Batata- Poha, Stuffed Paratha, Thepla, Dhokala, Idli, Sprouts, Boiled Sprouts, Seasonal Fruits & nuts.
